 Dear MRMS Families,

I hope this finds you well and in good health. I want to start by thanking you for supporting your students through this challenging time. It is clear that transitioning to a mobile learning format presents many challenges. Parents and caregivers are having to support their students’ academic progress in new and unfamiliar ways. I am extremely encouraged by all the support you as parents/caregivers are providing your children! Students have impressed me as well; participation this week has been tremendous! I am also proud that all of our teachers, counselors, support staff, administrators and office staff are working diligently to provide a positive and supportive remote learning experience during this challenging time.

As we navigate through these uncharted waters, we all need to remain flexible as we create a new system of learning to support all students. This will require several adjustments as we move forward. Feedback from students and parents like you will be instrumental in helping us provide an enriching and relevant remote learning experience. Please click on this Link to access a Google Doc where parents and family members can submit general questions, comments, concerns and celebrations. We will then address the parent submissions with the most current information available. If you have questions specific to your child or their teacher, please reach out directly to the educators on your child’s team.

During this mobile learning experience, I can assure you that no student will suffer punitive consequences for not completing work, performing poorly on assignments, or turning assignments in late. It is our mission to provide students with instruction based on the Colorado State Standards, support their learning by providing feedback on completed work, and to provide consistent communication to parents and families. We appreciate your patience as we figure out the most effective process to accomplish these goals.

I plan to provide the MRMS community updated information on a regular basis during the mobile learning experience. Teachers and counselors will be communicating expectations, available resources and supports, and Team specific information to students and families on a regular basis throughout the week. Please visit district communications for DCSD general information on remote learning. Also, please visit  MRMS COVID-19 Resource Guide for useful tips and resources that will assist with supporting remote learning at home. Please reach out to us if there is anything we can do to assist you or your student during this challenging time. Again, thank you for your patience and continued support!
