Dear Parents,
This communication is being sent to impacted students at Mountain Ridge Middle School. We recently learned that your child was in close contact with a person at our school who has tested positive for COVID-19.
The person who has tested positive is in isolation. Because your child was in close contact with this person, your child should enter into quarantine. In addition to impacted students whose families are receiving this notification, some staff members were also identified as close contacts with this person and they will also enter into quarantine. During this time, your child should stay home and not go to other schools, activities, childcare providers, or activities around other people. If you choose to get tested, please know that a negative test result only means that you did not have the virus detected at the time of testing. A negative test does not release an individual from quarantine.
Per Colorado Department of Health and Environment guidelines, the quarantine will end on Tuesday, September 29. Due to cohort scheduling, students who are quarantined will be able to return to school on or after Wednesday, September 30.
While your student is quarantined, learning will continue virtually. Staff will provide additional information soon. If you have other children, they can still go to school unless their sibling gets sick or tests positive for COVID-19. If you have more than one student at Mountain Ridge Middle School, please contact the school office for information on which student(s) will need to quarantine.
Please Note: You will receive a second communication soon that is being sent to all parents and staff members at Mountain Ridge Middle School.
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough and/or shortness of breath. Other symptoms can include sore throat, congestion/runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache/body aches and new loss of taste or smell. If you have a concern, please contact your medical provider for guidance.

Thank you for doing your part in keeping our students and staff healthy and safe.
