Max's room is still the best room in house in Atticus' opinion. He loves it when Max isn't in there, and he gets the green chair all to himself!

The boy's favorite thing to do these days.

Max and Atticus get their pushing toys and chase each other around the room. It is really cute. Max has been so sweet to Atticus lately. We were playing outside yesterday, and Max even went up to Atticus and pulled a leaf off of the back of his diaper for him. Too sweet. When they go to the basement, Max goes and finds the lawn mower (Atticus' favorite toy), and brings it to him so they can start chasing each other.

A little late.

Atticus turned 1 last month.
He loved his cake, but he had an ear infection, so he wasn't too cheerful. The ear infection was a first for us, and after all the sleepless nights, I hope it was the last.

He had cake all over his face. We cleaned him up, but forgot about the nostrils.
He does have some crazy hair.
A little family picture.
Atticus loved opening his presents, but
it was his party, so he could cry if he wanted too.

What you see here is a 1 year old that is 6th% on weight, 25% on height, and (big shocker) 90% on head. Yes, my kids have an excessive amount brains-at least that's what I'm hoping is making their heads so big!

Last known picture of...

...Max sucking his thumb. I've been meaning to blog about this story, but I forgot until I read a friend's blog about weaning her kids from the pacifier. In April, we went on one of our favorite family outings to Home Depot. While in the store, a piece of wood fell on Max's thumb and cut it-a little. So, while everyone watched as he screamed VERY loud, a kind employee brought him a band-aid. That night, he was having a hard time going to sleep, so I tried to take the band-aid off so he could suck his thumb, but he wouldn't let me. After a week, you can imagine how nasty the band-aid had become, so we gave him no choice. The band-aid had to be removed. He never looked back. I guess it does take 7 days to break a habit. He hasn't sucked his thumb since. That was just too easy! I had already been worrying about when and how to begin breaking this habit, and I never imagined he would do it on his own. What will I do when the other kids are not quite as easy?!

Time-out

Max is sitting on the stairs behind the "gate" because he is in time-out. He always sits behind the gate because Atticus now joins him every time, and it drives Max crazy. As soon as Max is sent to time out, Atticus crawls right on over and sits on the bottom step until Max comes out. It is really cute, but I have no idea why Atticus does it. Perhaps he feels sorry for Max, or he thinks time-out is cool because Max is doing it?

Atticus was not too happy about this picture session.

It's a boy!

Are you annoyed by those people that just HAVE to find out the sex of their baby before the baby is born? Well, I am one of those people, and the sooner the better! We had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago, and it was quite amazing. I had never had an ultrasound at 13 weeks, and I had no idea how developed the baby already is. It was awesome and most definitely a boy!

Yay! Baby #3!

Who's the big brother now?

This was the 8 week ultrasound. Everything looked good, and we heard a strong heartbeat. We're 11 weeks along, and the baby is due on November 19th. No morning sickness, thank goodness!
Max at 28 months

"car"

Turn up your speakers and listen close! Atticus can say "car". He LOVES to play with the cars. Of course, that is another one of the many toys that Max doesn't like to share. Atticus will pick up a car and crawl around with it saying, "car" the whole time. And if you say "car", he proudly holds one up for you to see!

Rain, Snow, Sleet, or Hail

The kind of weather doesn't matter. Max will go anywhere in any temperature to play with his "reggs". (That's eggs for those of you who didn't get it.)

We pulled out the walker and Atticus took off!

Atticus' hair is really coming in.

Max is finally getting a mouthful of teeth. Four are coming in now! Well, I guess he's only 2, so we haven't been waiting that long. I had big plans back in January to post all about our potty training, but obviously I didn't. Our first week was spent living in the family room next to the little portable potty, so I just didn't make it upstairs to the computer. But, all that is to say that Max has done great! After 2 days of nakedness, then 2 days of undies only, then 2 days of undies and a shirt, we finally made it to full dress. We did live on the potty in front of the t.v. for a week, but the end result was a potty trained little boy. I was so glad. I think he was just ready, and he's always been one to go right on into the next phase of his life without looking back. Two weeks later, he didn't even want diapers at night. He really has done remarkable, and I can only dream that every kid of mine will be that easy. He's had a few accidents, but the last one was in February, so I think I can officially say we are there. The only downer is that he still can't pull his pants down by himself. So, I do join him for each and every bathroom trip.
Atticus is sitting outside of Max's room, banging on the door, and waiting for Max to wake up. It's not so much that he wants to play with Max. He just LOVES the toys in Max's room, and it drives him crazy when he can't get in there to play. Look close-Atticus has a bruise on his forehead-compliments of his brother.

Happy Easter!

Much like last year, we had snow on the ground for Easter and it was 20 degrees when we woke up. So, the boys didn't get to wear their Easter outfits this Sunday, but I did find some pretty cute ones that worked ok.We went to a friend's house after church and they had a little Easter egg hunt for the boys. It was so cute. Max loved finding all the "reggs". We forgot to bring an Easter basket for him and Atticus slept through the whole thing. But they had a great time!

If you look close, you can see Atticus' new lone tooth!
