Vacation

Max couldn't WAIT to go on the airplane. I pulled the suitcases out of the basement. He filled one up with toys and said he was going to the airport. So, I let him walk outside with the suitcase, and he just kept on walking. It took me forever to get him to come inside. He was halfway down the street before I convinced him the airport was in the other direction. That got him inside...with a few tears, though.
We headed to Jackson to see the Grans.
We were hoping to be able to see more family while we were back South, but it didn't work out. I had just gotten diagnosed with thyroiditis (which has now lead to hypothyroidism) and it just wiped me out.
Look at that brotherly love!

We did get about an hour visit in with Shelby, a good friend of mine and former roommate in college. It was great to get to see her and catch up with her!
Then, we headed up to the lake and hit the boat.

I have another kid that "glows" with pale beauty.
Atticus fell running down the steep driveway and scratched his face up pretty good.
We celebrated Atticus' 2nd birthday while we were there.

Pierson and Atticus had a CARS party together.
Max reminds us all the time - that next time, it's going to be HIS turn to have a party and cake with Pierson.

Max REALLY wanted to find a waterfall on the lake to "ride down". We did find a waterfall, but he quickly realized we couldn't ride down it.
Atticus LOVED the boat, and he didn't even mind his life jacket.
"Do it big!" Max's favorite boat phrase-meaning GO FAST!
Max did a little tubing with Dad. When it was Atticus' turn, Dad immediately flipped him into the water on his head, so he cried the whole time and I don't have a picture of that terribly frightening episode! Atticus might now be a tubing-hater for life.
The moment Max's love of fishing began.
Max and Pierson SERIOUSLY fighting over who is going to drive the boat.
playing on "the beach"
playing Rock Band
The moment Katie accidentally hit Max with the drum stick. 1 second after this picture was taken, Max is screaming!
Atticus-still recovering from his injuries.

Same story...different kid.

Yes, we still have the same basket and the same toys, and I'm pulling it out again.

Moments after this picture was taken, Atticus climbed right on in and turned the whole thing over. Atticus cried, then Emmett cried.
