Merry Christmas!

I loved all my presents! Here I am so excited about one of my new balls.
I even wore my new hat.
My new toolbench is great because I can put the tools in my mouth.
I love my new play set. I got to open it on Christmas Eve.

When I get tired, I suck my thumb, rub my eyes, and hold the only dog my parents will ever get me.

My First Blizzard

I'm sure no one is shocked...
that I did not like the snow.

It took 4 hours to shovel out this little driveway.

Steps...

I've been taking a few steps here and there for a couple of weeks, but last night I took a lot more. I kept taking about 5 at a time. And each time I put my arms straight out in front of me, and I looked just like Frankenstein.

Happy Anniversary!

7 years ago today we were married. I hope we have 70 more, and I have to say that I still think I got the better end of the deal.

Lots of people came to see me on my 1st birthday!

Granny came to see me.
JuJu came to see me
and Aunt Amanda, Uncle Phil, and Pierson, too.

My Cake

First of all, let me start off by saying this is supposed to be a "block" cake. Feel free to withhold any comments you might want to leave regarding the cake. My mom already said Martha would not be proud. Anyway...so, here I am looking at my cake...perhaps you can already see the apprehension on my face.
I'm looking a LITTLE more sure of myself...now that the scary candle is gone.

Now, I'm even feeling so brave that I have actually touched the cake, but that bravery doesn't last long...
Nope. Now I'm upset about all this green and white stuff on my fingers.
But that's ok because I'm going to touch it again.
Now I'm really upset because this green and white stuff is all over my whole hand!
So, at this point, I figured what is a better way to get something off my hand than to eat it.
Not so bad! I think I'll actually eat this cake I was afraid of just a few pictures ago.
Oh yes! I'm loving some cake! I think the best way to eat as much as I can, as fast as I can, is to put my whole hand in my mouth.
I LOVED this cake after a few scary moments. I can't wait 'til next year!

"Tree!"

There seems to be a running theme in my life...scared. Or maybe the word could be apprehensive, nervous, or unsure. But whatever you want to call it, we now have another thing I'm afraid of...Christmas Trees. Although that is not so surprising since I'm scared of leaves and pumpkins, it only makes sense that I wouldn't like trees either. So, here I am desperately holding on to my dad's neck, about to have a major meltdown, because he is trying to make me touch the tree.
Well, after many many attempts. I finally touched the tree without crying. And now, I've come such a long way...that I LOVE the tree. That is my new word. I say "tree" all the time! And I mean all the time. We're talking in the middle of the night when I might wake up, or in the car the whole drive to church, or when I'm in the other room and can't see the tree anymore. And I don't even just say it anymore. No! I have to yell it over and over...even through the entire Children's Christmas Program at church. I'm getting the feeling my parents want me to be afraid of it again, but there is no going back.

Today I'm 1!

I've grown up a lot, but I just haven't gotten any more hair.
Birthday Party pictures to come...

My First Thanksgiving

I had so much fun with my cousin Pierson. We played together the whole time. We played together in the mornings when we first got up.
We ate all our meals together.
We played together in the afternoon, until...
things went bad...
very bad. I'm not sure what my mom is doing to Pierson here?
Yep. Things went from bad to worse. At this point, I just wanted to shout to all the adults standing around, "Hello! We're tired of pictures!" But they just kept taking them.
The whole family for Thanksgiving.
Pierson, Great Aunt Lynda, and me.
My Great Grandparents. My Great Grandad had magic arms that could just put me right to sleep.
Pierson, my Grandparents, and me.

This is my friend Rydon. You might remember him from previous posts. Even though he has a whole head of hair and feet 4 times bigger than mine, he is only 2 weeks older than me!

This can't be comfortable!

It seems that no matter where my parents put me in my crib at night, I always crawl to this corner in the crib to sleep. And, obviously, I sometimes get as close to the corner as I possibly can.

No, I am not supposed to stand on my chair. But if I flashed this gummy smile at you, while standing on the chair, you wouldn't want to discipline me either, right? It works every time!

My Jeep Wagoneer

I love riding in my blue car...even though right after this picture was taken, I had a bad wreck. My dad ran over a toy, which got stuck under the wheel, which brought my car to a screeching stop...and I went flying out. It was pretty scary, and I did take a little while to breathe before I let out a very loud wail. However, I did get back in my car and take it for another spin.

Anyone see a 3rd tooth coming in? Nope. Not even close. I'm still just grinning with 2. And the mess on the kitchen floor behind me?...I'm proud to show off my work.

Milestones, Milestones

A few weeks ago, I started pointing. Although I sometimes point with all 4 fingers, my parents still get excited every time I do it. I especially love to point at airplanes and birds. I don't have a picture yet, but I also love love love to drink out of a straw. So, be careful if you are drinking around me...I'm likely to grab the cup and straw right out of your hand.

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?

Not me! I'm afraid of plastic bags and pumpkins.
